Miami’s Iconic Tobacco Road Bar Finds a New Home With NCL

Tobacco_Road wikipediaThe Tobacco Road bar, which has been in operation in the city of Miami since 1912, recently closed. The building that housed the bar for over a hundred years is scheduled to be demolished to make way for a new mixed-use development.

The bar, or at least it’s memory, will live on aboard Norwegian Cruise Line’s new Norwegian Escape cruise ship, which will begin sailing from Miami in fall of 2015. The new on-ship bar will incorporate elements of the original establishment, including the neon sign and memorabilia and photographs showcasing the bar’s history.

There’s also rumors that the bar will re-open in Miami, near it’s previous location.
