According to a press release issued by the Port of Miami, the south Florida cruise terminal broke a world record in fiscal year 2014, with 4.77 million passengers on multiple day cruises. An additional 167,000 passengers sailed from the Port of Miami on daily cruises. This rather impressive number of cruisers sailed aboard the 32 ships that operated from Port of Miami in 2014. Helping to boost the year’s cruise totals were the addition of Norwegian Cruise Line’s new Norwegian Getaway and MSC’s Divina to the fleet of ships sailing from Miami.
Passenger numbers are expected to continue to increase in 2015 with the addition of Norwegian Cruise Line’s Norwegian Escape, year-round sailing by Carnival Cruise Line’s Carnival Splendor, three new cruise ships for the German Aida Cruise Line, and new seasonal cruises from the Italian Costa Cruise Line’s Costa Mediterranea.
Fifteen different cruise brands will sail from Port of Miami in 2015, including Aida Cruises, Azamara Club Cruises, Carnival Cruise Lines, Celebrity Cruises, Crystal Cruises, Disney Cruise Line, Hapag-Lloyd Cruises, MSC Cruises, Norwegian Cruise Line, Oceania Cruises, P&O Cruises, Regent Seven Seas Cruises, Resorts World Bimini, and Royal Caribbean International.
