The latest ship scheduled to join the Carnival Cruise Lines fleet is Carnival Breeze. The Breeze will set sail on it’s first cruise on June 3rd when it takes off on a 12-day European cruise from Venice, Italy. It’ll continue making 12-day cruises departing from Venice and Barcelona through the end of October. Then it’s time for a 15-day transatlantic trip from Barcelona to Miami, leaving on November 6, 2012. After that Breeze will spend the next five months alternating between 6-night and 8-night Caribbean cruises from Miami.
Carnival Breeze is the latest addition to the “Dream” class of ships, preceded by Carnival Dream and Carnival Magic. Some of the most notable features of the Breeze and other “Dream” ships are the long external “Lanai” promenades with whirlpools that hang off the side of the ship, the WaterWorks aqua park, the Ocean Plaza indoor/outdoor cafe and the enormous Cloud 9 “wellness” (spa) facility.
Celebrity chef Guy Fieri (host of “Diners, Drive-ins and Dives” on the Food Network) is making contributions to the menu for “Guy’s Burger Joint”, located near the Breeze’s pool. George Lopez is helping to pick the talent that will be featured in the Punchliner Comedy Club. And DJ IRIE, official DJ of the Miami Heat, is training the DJ’s who will be working in Liquid Nightclub and during deck parties.
Families can enjoy some competitive fun as they team up for “Hasbro, The Game Show”, featuring oversize versions of games like Connect 4, Yahtzee, Sorry! and Operation. The “Thrill 5D Theater” will be showing 3D films with the addition of moving seats (to be honest, we’re not sure where the fifth “D” comes from).
