Carnival Magic Will Cruise From Miami Beginning in 2018

The Carnival Magic will home port in Miami beginning September of 2018. Once in Miami, Carnival Magic will alternate between 7-night cruises to the Eastern and Western Caribbean.

Magic will be filling the spot in Carnival’s Miami fleet currently held by Carnival Vista, which is shifting to Galveston in 2018.

Carnival Announces Return to Caribbean Ports

Carnival Cruise Line sent out a message from president Christine Duffy on October 20th, reminding cruisers that the Caribbean is open for business and that Carnival will soon resume sailing to ports of call  damaged by recent hurricanes.

Carnival will be returning to Grand Turk in a matter of weeks and will resume visits to San Juan, Puerto Rico on November 30th of this year and St. Thomas and St. Maarten in January of 2018.

Fathom Cruises to Cuba and Dominican Republic to End in 2017

fathom lockup horizontal outline blueCarnival’s Fathom was the first of the cruise lines to sail United States-to-Cuba cruises from Miami. If you’d like to take a Fathom cruise to Cuba or the Dominican Republic, however, you’ll need to do it soon. A November 28 Condé Nast Traveler article reports that Fathom’s only ship, the Adonia, will shift to the P&O line and cease cruises to Cuba and the Dominican Republic. The article reports that Carnival has requested permission from Cuba with their other brands beginning in June of 2017. Continue reading
