Norwegian Star’s Cruises from Miami to Los Angeles

Norwegian Cruise Line’s Norwegian Star moves around a lot. The ship doesn’t stay in one port for long, but catch the Star while in Miami and you can choose from a variety of unique itineraries.

Although the Star does sail a few 7-night Caribbean cruises from Miami, its niche is the longer one-way cruise.

The Norwegian Star has six Pacific Coastal cruises scheduled from Miami December 2017 – February 2019. These two-week one-way cruises from Miami to Los Angeles cross the Panama Canal and have West Coast ports of call not often included in cruises from Miami, such as Acapulco and Cabo San Lucas, Mexico.  Continue reading

Mariner of the Seas Will Join Royal Caribbean’s Miami Fleet in 2018

Royal Caribbean’s Mariner of the Seas will home port in Miami beginning in June of 2018. Prior to making the shift, Mariner of the Seas, which has most recently been cruising in the Pacific, will enter dry dock for an extensive revitalization. Details regarding the ship’s renovations have not been released, but the Royal Caribbean website speaks of a “Tropical Transformation” with “splashy” new features, a new selection of dining options, and a few surprises.

Once the Mariner of the Seas is part of the Miami fleet, her specialty will be short get-aways to the Bahamas. The ship’s schedule for 2018 & 2019 consists of 3-night cruises to the Bahamas (Friday departures) and 4-night cruises to the Bahamas (Monday departures).  Continue reading
