Unless you’re planning to go directly to your cruise upon arriving in the Miami area – and doing the reverse after your cruise – you will probably want to stay in a hotel near the Miami cruise terminal. The hotels along Biscayne Bay in downtown Miami are the most convenient, but Miami Beach isn’t far away. Some of the most popular Miami cruise hotels are listed below.
Downtown Miami Hotels
For the ultimate in convenience, there are a nice group of hotels located just across the bridge from the Port of Miami back on the Miami “mainland”. All that we list here are no more than a mile from the port. They may not be on the beach but most are on or very near the Biscayne Bay waterfront.
Intercontinental Miami
Located just two blocks south of the entry to the port, you’ll be able to see your ship arrive from your room at the Intercontinental Miami
Mandarin Oriental Miami
The Mandarin Oriental Miami offers 5-star luxury on a little island just offshore from downtown, but within a mile of the port.
Hilton Miami Downtown
A very short drive north of the entrance to the port is the 4-star Hilton Miami Downtown.
Courtyard by Marriott Miami Downtown
Located a couple of blocks inland, the Courtyard by Marriott Miami Downtown gets decent reviews – at more reasonable prices.
Miami Beach Hotels
Many folks taking a cruise from Miami also take the opportunity to experience Miami Beach while visiting the area. What follows is just a small – very small – selection of the many hotels in Miami Beach.
Fontainebleau Miami Beach
The Fontainebleau Miami Beach is a classic oceanfront destination – and it recently got a $1 billion renovation.
Ritz Carlton South Beach
It’s a Ritz-Carlton and it’s in South Beach, so the Ritz Carlton South Beach is probably a rather nice place to stay.
Marriott Stanton South Beach
Located near the southern tip of Miami Beach, even the Marriott Stanton South Beach gets the Art Deco treatment.
