Amber Cove Cruise Center in the Dominican Republic is the Caribbean’s newest cruise ship destination. The new port is located on the Dominican Republic’s North Coast, near Puerto Plata. The cruise center has berths for two ships, which they are equipped to handle simultaneously.
Puerto Plata isn’t completely new to hosting cruise ships, but it’s been almost 30 years since the last one docked there. This new port has been developed to turn that around and bring cruisers back to the area, and the arrival of the Carnival Victory in October of 2015 will get things underway. Continue reading
