Yeah, sure, when most of us think of cruises departing from Miami we think about going to the Bahamas and the Caribbean. But, while they don’t happen every day, you can leave from Miami on a cruise vacation to a wide variety of destinations: including South America.
Oceania Marina From Miami To South America
Oceania’s cruise ship Marina heads to South America in December with some choice in length and ultimate destination. Regardless of how long you’re planning to stay aboard, the cruise leaves Miami on December 18th. The 21-day option ends in Rio de Janeiro. Extend your cruise to 31 nights and disembark in Buenos Aires. Or go full mega-cruise with 51-days around the southern tip and back up to Santiago de Chile.
Similar to the Seven Seas Mariner cruise described above, Marina is scheduled to go up the Amazon to Manaus. But instead of heading back to Miami it’ll take a right turn and sail south along Brazil’s Atlantic coast. It will arrive in Rio on January 7th. The next leg for 31-day cruises is a leisurely 10-day trip south to Buenos Aires, Argentina.
And, with the 51-day trip to Chile, things now get really interesting. After departing Buenos Aires the next stop is Uruguay, followed by the Falkland Islands. Next stop: Antarctica. Then it’s back to Punta Arenas at the southern tip of South America, several days viewing the spectacular fjords of Chile and a few more days north to Santiago. They call this itinerary “Amazon & Polar Explorer”. We call it: Trip of a lifetime.
Some Serious Serenity
On January 11, 2023 Crystal Serenity is scheduled to leave Miami for South America. This 15-night cruise to Lima, Peru includes a trip through the locks of the Panama Canal. (This is actually the first part of a 119 day almost-world-cruise from Miami to Athens, Greece.)
The trip to Peru includes stops in St. Barts, Curacao, Panama City, Ecuador and Lima.
